We Are Feminist Leaders is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy explains when and why we collect personal information about people who visit our website (for example to register for programmes, sign up to newsletters). You may give us personal information about yourself by completing a newsletter sign-up form, contact form or purchasing a product from us. We collect information about you when you register for programmes, sign up to newsletters and when you provide feedback, either physical or electronic.

The reason we need this data is to be able to administer your engagement with We are Feminist Leaders and deliver the service or programme you are signing up to when you join our community. Our lawful basis for processing your personal data is that we have a contractual obligation to you as a programme participant or member of the We Are Feminist Leaders community to provide the services you are registering for.

  • Sending you newsletters if you have signed up to them (we share your contact information with Mailchimp, our email marketing provider, so they can send these emails on our behalf)

  • Sending you information about the programme you have registered for

  • Processing registration forms and payments

  • Sharing personal data with We Are Feminist Leaders programme facilitators

  • Sending you surveys to understand and improve your experience as a community member

  • Analysing anonymised data to evaluate programme impact

We Are Feminist Leaders uses Twitter and LinkedIn social media platforms. If you follow us vis one of these platforms, please note that provider of the social media platform(s) have their own privacy policies and that We Are Feminist Leaders do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies.  


How long we hold your personal data


We will hold your personal data on file for as long as you are an opted-in member of our community. Any personal data we hold on you will be securely destroyed after five years of inactivity against your record. Your data is not processed for any further purposes other than those detailed in this policy.


Who has access to your data


We will not sell or rent your information to third parties. We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.  


Your rights regarding your personal data


As a data subject you may have the right at any time to request access to, rectification or erasure of your personal data; to restrict or object to certain kinds of processing of your personal data, including direct marketing; to the portability of your personal data and to complain to the UK’s data protection supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office about the processing of your personal data. 


As a data subject you are not obliged to share your personal data with We Are Feminist Leaders. If you choose not to share your personal data with us we may not be able to register or administer your participation.
